Shot List
As well as a storyboard we also created a shotlist to help us get the shots we needed. It's very similar to the storyboard however more detail has been used. Once we started editing we realised we had a very complex shot list. Our artist doesn't have a lot of free time, so to gain a lot of shots which we needed would be very rushed. We then decided to make our video more simple cutting out shots that weren't essential to the video and which also could be replaced easily which atmospheric shots or close ups of the artist.
Storyboard
We decided that throughout our storyboard we wanted close up shots of the artist. We also decided to have close up shots of a piano being played. Both these conventions are used within the genre of music. To make our video more unusal we decided to use atmospheric shots of the forest which is our main location. This confuses people and also allows the audience to create a mental image in their head of where the murder is happening as the lyrics are based on murder. To show our star image we decided to use extreme close ups on eyes which allows us to edit a purple eye into the shots. The reason the purple eye is being edited in, is because unfortantley the purple contacts we were planning on using irritate our artists eyes. One purple eye is part of our star image, as well as a very simplistic natural girl as our artist. In our storyboard we also decided to use shaky camera work to follow the intertextuality of the Blair Witch Project.
Costume For Our Actress
We decided to put our actress in a white dress. This symbolises her innocence however to contrast this, we put her in black leggings and boots which symbolises evil. The two contrasting colours allows us to confuse the audience with the different images shown. This means that because the song is about murder we can use black and white to confuse the audience creating a sense of the unknown. In some scenes we also put a long black coat on our actress to cover up all the innocence.
